Robert Cruickshank’s “The Cholera Patient”.

I stumbled upon this picture today on the BBC News health webpage. It shows a patient suffering from cholera, taking a variety of “useless remedies”. All under the guise of “The Board of Health”. It was about 20 years later when it was discovered that all that was needed to prevent cholera, was a clean drinking water supply. How many diseases today are down to what we eat or drink? Yet our Health Service are still trying to get us to take useless remedies, pills that come with disatrous side-effects, that hey-ho they have another pill for! Have we really come very far in 180 years? What’s your view?
