About

This blog is an effort to bring an awareness to those who care to read it, that our health is as much down to the lifestyle that we lead, as it is to anything else. It has been my privilege to have helped so many people regain their health through the various techniques that I use in The Joy of Health Clinic, and I hope to share some of that with you, my followers.

I am a health care professional with nearly 35 years experience. The first 20 of those as a Nurse, and the last 17 years as a McTimoney Chiropractor. In 1993 I qualified as an aromatherapist, and in autumn 2014 started to blog more about this.

I believe that McTimoney Chiropractic has a very important part to play, in helping with our health, as it ensures that our nervous system is functioning optimally. My belief is that when we are physically aligned, our Soul is aligned to hear the Lord’s will for us in our life. This was not something that I was taught in Chiropractic college, but a conclusion that I have reached after many years working with people, the experiences that they have led me to have, and the books that I have read.

As a Spiritual Christian I believe that all healing comes from God, and it takes many guises, from the doctor’s ministrations, to our own lifestyle, which includes our nutritional status, our exercise regime, and how we react to life around us, including how well we can forgive someone who has done wrong in our eyes, towards us. Prayer is a powerful healer. God answers all prayers, but we do need to be open to hear the voice of God when he guides us to effect the healing.

Nutrition plays a huge part in how healthy we are. Since October 2012 I have been a Proto-col professional, promoting a British firm which sells top quality nutritional health supplements used by elite athletes. I am passionate about these supplements, as I have personal experience of using them with my family. My husband swears by the collagen capsules. One of the reasons for this blog is to bring this range of products to a wider audience.

I would love to connect with people who are looking for a different perspective to their health problems, although I would like to point out that I believe that our health is our own responsibility, so my view and opinion should be weighed up, so that you can make informed choices about any decisions that they have. Your doctor may be the first place that you go, but go being empowered. Those that are empowered are healthier than those who are compliant.

Blessings Joy x

  1. Hi, this sounds like a very helpful blog, so I will make sure I hit the ‘follow’ button now. Please do check mine out, and perhaps follow it back if you find something there to interest you.

    • I am happy to re-follow. I am glad that you find my blog helpful, is there anything you would like me to expand upon, as I like to respond to my followers and let my blog go where they take me, or else you are left with whatever I dream up 🙂 Namaste PS Have you had a GOOD shower yet?

      • Well, as I suffer from bad knees and occasional lower back problems, I always find useful reading more about dealing with such problems. Otherwise, any health and beauty advice is something I am interested in, both for myself and my kids, which is why I find your blog interesting.

As for the shower – ha ha, yes, they are all good, apart from this particular one. 🙂 Thanks for following back, I look forward to your posts appearing in my reader!

      • I can recommend something for bad knees if you wish? I treat lots of peole with knee problems 😉

Maybe my next blog will be on that very thing, or at least a blog this week. Namaste Joy x

      • Oh, that would be great, thank you! I have actually been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, and have recently had knee injections. Any new information will be warmly welcome. 🙂

  2. Nice to meet you. I also trained in Aromatherapy back in 1987 with Robert Tisserand. I have had a number of McTimoney sessions too but not since I came to Ireland. Looking forward to your blog posts.
